     It was good to see that you were up to the challanges.  You did not
reply to the question whether you were using a desk top or lap top computer. 
Apparently you solved the problem.  When buying a new keyboard take the kid
with you to the store for a lesson in replacing damage.  While there get one
of those soft clear plastic covers that protect the keyboard from such
abuse.  A plastic cover will also protect the contacts from alcoholic
beverage mishaps.
    Your reply to Claude was great.  It covered the basics.  You need to get
a masters degree and teach in a technical school.  You would be one of those
great teachers that are needed.
     And you get special applause for the subject line.  Now others can find
that instructional information by correct subject.  Let us have three cheers
