i must admit a certain amount of ignorance about ebay and the best way to use it for personal gain, either as a seller or a buyer. that said can someone tell me if there's an advantage to putting a highish opening bid amount and a reserve price which one assumes is sustantially higher than the opening bid? i feel a little put off by it and generally think its much more fun to bid on items with no reserve and/or a fair buy it now price. am i missing something? doesn't the opening bid price on that r-22 seem pretty close to what its worth?

vehicle description, you state the boat is a 1984, can you please clarify? 
Also, most rhodes 22 of this era have 9 stays yet you state it has 8. Can
