[Rhodes22-list] Rhodes22 vs Precision 23

Tatflies: Until I joined the every-day-is-Saturday club a few years ago my
sailing was mostly involved in racing dingy inland scow craft...M-16s, MCs,
Lasers, etc. Upon retirement I bought a Catalina 22, which I enjoyed but
found a bit sluggish, and replaced it with the Precision. It was a big
improvement from strictly a handling aspect but not terribly comfortable (by
this point I was enjoying not hanging my wet butt over the sides from hiking
straps, etc. that was characteristic of the scows...and rather taken by the
joys of a galley, berthing, porta-potti, cushioned cockpit, stereo system,
etc.). Then I saw the Rhodes 22 at the Chicago Sail show last year...made a
pilgrimage to Edenton and became a "Rhodie" with all the trimings on a '91
recycled...UPP, IMF, swivel seats (sorry, Rummy, but delightful for sailing
while sipping my chardonay or swilling a frequent Heineken). LOVE the boat
for it's comfort, balance, looks and ease of single handling. Just not happy
with the heavy and most often too-large 175 genoa and will likely replace it
soon. Anyone interested?

    George
