Thanks to all for the insights on towing. I hadn't given it enough consideration. My vehicle doesn't seem to be as well suited as I'd like, but I think it'll do. It _has_ to, as it's all I've got. An oil cooler does sounds like a good idea.

The towing capacity of a vehicle has more to do with than just the size of  
the engine and the tranny type. Other considerations are tire size and weight  
rating, cooling capacity, rear axle rating and gear ratio and brake size/type  
and stopping ability.
