The IPCC statement is that there is a "90%" chance that global warming
is caused by humans. That is probably conservatively high, due to
pressure
from governments, primarily the US and China. We do know that the
climate
models, which incorporate our best knowledge of the earth's climate
system. It is clearly very complex, but the models seem to do a good
job of simulating things like the effects of volcanic eruptions and el
Nino.
There has been a substantial increase in understanding the various
interactions that contribute to the global climate, including solar
variability,
sequestration of carbon in the oceans, loss of albedo due to melting of
snow cover, and increase in vegetation due to increased Co2
concentration.
The increase in carbon emission appears to fit the warming data well.
I wouldn't just accept that we can't understand the causes, people can
be
pretty smart if motivated and politicians stay out of the way.
