Art,

Beautiful in its simplicity.....that may just
work...thanks....

My sailor neighbor & I did some boat handling drills
and 'touch & go' docking drills tonite. (His role
tonite was just to fend off when necessary. He wanted
me to tell him what I was doing, and why, what I was
going to do, how I expected the boat to react, etc.
Sure is different from a boat with an inboard
engine)..

Only had to abort one landing as I turned too soon to
parallel the dock & current carried me to the outboard
piling before I could fetch the spring line. No harm
done & we went out to try again...FUN!

I'm feeling more comfortable making the 'U" approach,
( my dock would be the left side of the "U" and my
bulkhead is the bottom of the "U.") I had strong
current tonite but no wind like the last time.....Only
had to abort one attempt when I turned too soon &
current wanted to push me into the outboard piling...

Does anyone have the Tohatsu w/ the device that
connects to the rudder?? (I know there is one for the
Yamaha..)...It appears that there would be better
control in tight spaces if the prop's thrust were
working in concert with the rudder.
