Dan:

     All this talk about towing, trailers and boats.  Where are you going to
keep the boat?  If you are going to keep it at a dock, consider renting a
truck whenever the need to pull it out comes up.  Then in a year or so, when
you get wanderlust, buy your vehicle then.  There is not an immediate need
to get the vehicle before the boat.
      If you buy a boat from Stan and hire Elton to deliver it, you get one
very experienced delivery man and instructions that you cannot buy.  Insist
on Elton or Stan delivering it.
       There is an issue about buying a used boat offered from members of
this list.  However, there are several older standard rig boats for sale at
reasonable prices.  It is the IMF that makes boats unique and expensive. 
Take time to study the archives and read the old FAQ's.
        If you buy a reconditioned boat from Stan, you do not need to get
into rebuilding and repairs, but get a boat that you can sail that day.
