Rex,
My end cap is held in place with two little screws--one on each side. After
removing the screws, the cap took a bit of persuading with a hammer before
it came off. The hex-head bolt was fastened with a lock nut. I just traded
out the hex head bolt with an eye bolt and a fresh lock nut. Very easy.
