Todd,
I have no doubt that Roger's solution works, although I think that there
must be another way that is more visually appealing. Has anyone attempted
to run a length of tubing under the raised portion of the cockpit seat (the
edge near the middle of the cockpit) from front to back, supporting the
tubing in the lazarrette and the companionway bulkhead? I have always been
concerned by the sound emitted by the seats but never thought to add a
support structure. The vertical columns that Roger added may interfere with
access to the storage area under the seats while the front to back support
would not.
Just thinking out loud...
