It is both.
Oh for the day when it doesn't matter. When you can laugh at a black man
that looks like a chimp as easily and freely as you laugh at a white man
that does.
THAT is when we will begin to see equality.
As long as I look at someone and ask myself "What must I do to not
offend them because of their skin color?" then I am forcing myself to
judge them based, at least in part, on their skin color.
