DOH! Make that head WEST a couple of weeks, follow my original directions
and you can do the Dr. Livingston routine. My Bad.

Hey Andrew,
That sounds like a plan. Keep your roots on both sides of the
family! Shoot, just head east for a couple of weeks and bam, you are in the
Carribean or head NE and the Med is your playground! Have fun, don't worry
about the skills you'll have lots of opportunities to learn.

Oh, I gotta tell you a story about Munich. Adolph Hitler paid for my
education, both schoolasticly and nautically. Seems that McGraw Kasern was
originally a Reich's Zollmaster's base and they strored all that creepy shit
in the Kasern. When the U.S army came in they cleaned it out and dumped the
big stuff in the park and made a couple of sled hills. For the rest of the
small stuff, they built a couple of walls at the bottom of the 2nd level
basement stairwell and dumped it all down there along with about 50% dirt,
the stuff was mostly belt buckels and pins, buttons etc., all political. I
had to get a crew of Italians to break up the slab that had been pored over
the stuff to fix a broken sewer line. (some one flushed an M-80 down the
john). I had met a couple of retired GI's who were the ones who dumped the
stuff so I knew it was there and since I was incharge of this kind of repair
should someone flush a M-80 down the toilet I knew it would be my job. Long
story short, the American G.It's paid top dollar for the crap and I made
enough $ to pay for 3 semesters at *US of M Munich and pay for my sailing in
Greece. With my anti-Fasciest education I know I must make Der Fuerer spin
in, well where ever he is in Hell.

Chris

God willing and the river don't rise we will split our time between Spain
and NYC if and when I get to retire. My wife is from Tenerife, Canary
Islands. What I've been looking at is the sailing there, which is very
different from LI Sound, which is basically a lake with tides. There the
bottom drops fast and it is all blue water and one needs skills that I do
not think I have yet, a seaworthy keel boat, a convenient port and lots of
money. I've talked to people who have sailed fron island to island, and this
is real sailing, no day sails. Maybe chartering is a way to get one's feet
wet.
Getting back to Germany, we are going to a family reunion this coming July
in and around Munich so my kids can meet my cousins and their kids, which
will be fun.

Good beer will flow! Prost!
