[Rhodes22-list] Public Service Announcement - Alcohol usage (humor)

I definitely remember that rite-of-passage where I threatened to whip my old
man's ass. He got real serious about it, and I put my tail between my legs
and whimpered away, more or less. Good times.

Ben,

It get worse, then it gets better. After that, you just want to kill
them. Yours will definitely get old enough to challenge you some day.
My oldest never tried to whip my ass, but my youngest made the
mistake of trying that - once. The Grateful Dead weren't singing
about parenthood but they may as well have been, "what a long strange
trip it's been".

I love talking to my Dad about the Great Depression, WW2, the early
days in the oilfield, construction projects, etc. He held it all
pretty close to his chest until he was in his 80's. We (my brother
and I) got our asses kicked on the Mississippi Gulf Coast for the
first year and I drug my oldest son along for the ride. He's about
done with his second undergraduate degree, this one in Construction
Management, and when he was interviewed for the program he said, "Oh
yeah, I have some experience in the field, Dad drug my the nose
through it!"

There's no owner manual out there for kids. Have fun!

Brad
