Last time it happened, no one seemed to want to take credit for it, but 
it was definitely a bipartisan effort.

The Jews had no law allowing Christ to be killed for what he had done, 
so it had to be the Romans. Pilate tried passing it off to Herod, who 
just wanted to see parlor tricks. Pilate got the issue back, and "left 
the decision" to the Jews, thinking they'd pick a cold blooded killer to 
die instead of Jesus. But, that's not what the crowd did, so Pilate 
blamed it on the Jews.

Truth be told, I personally believe it was the Jewish leaders. When 
Christ cleared the temple, he wasn't chasing people out because they 
were buying and selling, he was chasing people out because they were 
cheating others. Charging usery prices for changing money into a 
denomination "acceptable" to the church of the day, and selling only 
"approved" animals for sacrifice (which were in fact, often unclean, but 
still "blessed" by the temple leaders). All of this was done for a fee 
to the temple leaders.

Disrupting their cash flow was a problem, and thus the Man finally had 
to be dealt with.

But, everyone wanted to blame someone else.

Judas wasn't around anymore, so most of us blame him.
