Brad asked, “Why people seem so willing to sacrifice critical inquiry,
history, and proven economic principles is obviously beyond my intellectual
capacity.”  

Consider one reason is that traditional religion has been painted as wrong
by MSM, by the current crop of public school teachers and liberal court
opinions.  In its place has been substituted Marxism which replaces God with
Man.  

When an evangelists Marxist comes along, the new believers march along.
 
The males have been made into eunuchs.  They now have no courage for
critical inquiry.  They have been trained not to question the wisdom of
change.  They have been trained to worship the new form of religion.  These
are the new intellectuals.  These are the new Rhodes Scholars, the editors
of the Harvard Law Review, the editors of the New York Times, the writers of
the Main Stream Media, etc.
