[Rhodes22-list] Taxes

Part of our discussion yesterday centered around risks versus rewards,
specifically concerning my construction company. We dodged a bullet
with the loss of our dump truck last year (we lost 30K after the
insurance settlement and thankfully the insurance company covered the
lawsuits filed even though we were not at fault - we were the only
commercial vehicle so therefore we were the target of the lawsuits). I
can sell the company to my brother and the airplane to myself and be
done with the risk. What value is there for me to continue? That is
the exactly the problem with marginal tax rates and schemes that
punishes entrepreneurship and initiative.

The Chinese have a wonderful expression, "killing a chicken for an
egg", roughly the same as our "don't kill the goose that laid the
Golden Egg".

People really are this stupid! It even has a name - SOCIALISM.

Here's a word from a Harvard Econ101 professor. I'm sending the link
and not the article so you can see the graphs.
