Thanks Rob... I'd take a pic of my setup but it is freezing outside... have 
attached a drawing to my response to Lou.

As I said to MaryLou, I'm not going to redo the threading... it is fine as 
it is and all the blocks have been replaced and installed now.

Just need to drill holes for the bolts, seal it and install a zillion 
bolts... then install the new pennant tube. We applied bottom paint inside 
the cap because there were quite a few barnacles up in there... how, I have 
no idea.   I've been getting a lot of rain water in the cabin through that 
bad tube.  I suspect she is leaking somewhere else as well, but at least 
that one will be eliminated.
