Rob,
When the yard replaced our swing keel line and pulleys, they had it on a cradle with the board dropped down fully and did most of the work from the outside. From the modest labor charge I wonder if they had to really take off the cap and re-epoxy it backon. Only time in our boat maintenance that the stainless parts cost as much as the labor.

  Thanks Lee. I've been a busy alcoholic for the past month or so and  
  hopefully things have settled down enough that I can once again enjoy the  company of 
  the list members.
  One of the preventative maintenance items I'm having done to RumRunner is  
  replacing the line and pulley's inside the centerboard trunk. Anyone have any  
  suggestions that will ease the pain and amount of time it will take? The cap  
  hasn't been removed in the twenty one years that she's been sailing. Who knows  
  what treasure's I will find down there?
  I hope the lake comes back up about the time all these updates and repairs  
  are done because I'm really going through withdrawal......both from sailing and 
   lack of an excuse to drink massive quantities.

  Due to popular and overwhelming demand (the  commodore said the list was 
  getting to be way to boring), I have signed  back on to the list. I had a 
  wonderful sabbatical away during which I have  accomplished much.
  RumRunner is currently being sanded down and close to  being ready for a new 
  coat of blue paint and numerous other upgrades and  fixes.
  Our lake is still down fourteen feet, but it has been that way for  about a 
  month now without much change in either direction. Even if  RumRunner is 
  ready 
  for the water, the lake level will have to come up some  before I would be 
  willing to put her in. The lake is a very dangerous  place to be right now. I 
  may 
  venture out in my small aluminum boat and  take some pictures to give you all
  an  idea of what it looks like.  Glad to be back.
