We have two 3 gallon tanks. Much easier to handle than a single 6 
gallon. We have a snap on fitting on the tank end of the fuel line so 
it's easy to switch tanks underway. It's also easier to keep the gas 
fresh. When we are going on longer cruises, we often take an extra 1 
1/2 gallon jerry can. I think we figure 3 hours of motoring at 4 
knots per gallon but we usually get more.
