Rik did the lettering for many boats including mine, and I am very pleased with his work.  Follow his advice; he will not lead you astray, as you might be already aware.
 
Attached are two pictures of his workmanship on my boat.  I went with his recommendation, and am happy that I did.

I am getting ready to order some graphics from signs by Rik for Opus my new
R22 and need to decide on the placement, size and content.  I am leaning
toward "Opus" on the starboard and port aft quarter centered between
the
water line and rub rail.  Does anyone know the vertical distance from the
water line to the rub rail?  This would allow me to do a mock up in order to
determine the exact letter height.  I also notice several options on were to
locate the boat numbers and prefer on the hull not the cabin top.  My hull
is navy blue and I am considering white letters.  Does anyone include the
port of call on the transom or is this area too cluttered?  Enclosed are
some photo shop images were I have taken the liberty to borrow some R22
photos off the internet in order to explore boat name, number and port of
call placement.
