Greg,
I ve recently had similar issues. I assume you have a standard main?
Mine got hung up by a careless mistake of a twisted halyard return. I use
that common sail slide, boltrope lube in black spray can (forgot the name)
I had to move my halyard end that goes to my rope clutch
to the other side of the mast. I had dropped the stick a few days before
launch to repair a windex and didnt get the rigging correct when I raised
it.
check halyards for wear also.
lube sheeves at masthead when it comes down
Sometimes it just needs a shake when raising ie: loosen tension then give a
good hard pull to get any
pockets out.
hope this helps
all the best
