Greg,
No disrepect intended to Lou, but I would not lube the sheaves at the top of
the masthead, or at the very least, be very careful what you use to lube
them. Any oil or grease based lubricant will really attract dust and dirt
and will end up gumming up after awhile. If your sheaves are not in the
best condition, consider replacing them with sheaves made with Delrin
sheaves with bronze bearing bushings. If you can't find the right size at
WM or online, a good source for custom sheaves is www.zephyrwerks.com. I
have used them adn they are really great. The bushings are made so that
they never need lubrication.
