More power to her.  My college freshman can't seem to navigate his way
out of bed and to classes in the morning.  I don't think he'd be able to
make it past the first port that had alcohol or girls.

It's been a long time since I read her book, but wasn't Tania Abei just

when she soloed around the world before GPS or sat-phones?  I'm sure
most
don't have the skill and maturity for such a task, but I'm willing to
concede that there might be exceptional 16-year-olds out there that are
ready for such a journey.  But I'll also acknowledge that you might be
right.  I'm not around many teenagers -- my kids and fiends' kids are
still
much younger, so I don't have a good sense of their strength or
maturity.  I
know that if I had been in that position at that age I would have
drowned
for sure.

By the way, you prompted me to check her blog yesterday.  Apparently,
she
was caught in such a storm that her boat rolled completely.  There are
some
pics on her site from before the storm came through.  I might have to go
back to following some of these blogs.

problems with our "celebrity" culture and this case just pushes my
buttons
for some reason. Don't worry, I'll get over it as soon as the medicine

in.
