Chris could have alerted you, but like you said he was lethargic by the
dinner or wine or beer or good hull insurance, whatever.

John,

It's good to know that this sailing nightmare experience is not unique to
me.

Unsure of my anchoring skill, that was tested by tide and current in Puget
Sound, I had a fun but restless sleep while over-nighting on the hook last
summer.  Woke up at 3.00am and noticed the boat was closer to nice little
Tug
that was on a mooring; I went out side and adjusted my rode.  It turned out
that
the shift in position was because of a 3 hour fall in the tide.

Chris could have alerted me to that development, but I guess he was a little

lethargic by the sumscious dinner we enjoyed together.

Caesar

Hail Caesar, (bet you get tired of that)

The first year I had recurring dreams about the boat being driven ashore
while sleeping at anchor. Sometimes the dream could end up with the boat 1/4
mi or so from the shore. When sleeping aboard now I always set at least 2
anchors regardless of wind and have a 3rd if I think a storm will blow
through overnight.
