John:
I don't have too much crap on the boat that would produce significant weight, aside from what's on the transom. If I simply snug the boat up against the forward-most point on the trailer (since the trailer is built for the boat) I assume I should be OK. Si?
Joe

Bob's statement might also be worded as "a lot of weight aft of the axle". Meaning - if you're weight distribution 40% forward and 60% aft, you're going to get fishtailing. If you can get close to 50/50 with rudder/motor/etc on the transom then your balance is OK.
Cheers!

I add that because if you have a lot of weight on the boat transom, you could still get some "fishtailing."
