[Rhodes22-list] Thru hull fitting

I recently replaced my sink and in the process pulled the sink drain hose off
the thru hull fitting.  I notice that the drain hose from the sink to the
thru hull fitting has hose inside a hose that I suppose allows the pipe size
from the sink drain to reduce and fit the thru hull fitting. Put a bunch of
sealant on the hose and reattached with a hose clamp at the thru hull
fitting.  Is this the standard set up for the sink or should I replace it
with something else?
