Sam,

  On my '86 there is a piece of wood,about 1" thick,3" wide and 1 foot
long,screwed to the plywood bottom of each half of the cushions. It goes in
the hole for the water tank, battery area,just before the raised part of the
bow area. If thecushion trys to slide forward , it hits the fiberglass bow
and stops forward motion.  You could also screw another piece of wood  on
the forward side of the piece that is supposed  to support the back of the
cushions,so the cushions can't go far enought forward to let the back fall
off.
