[Rhodes22-list] Salt Water Rhodes

Wow Geoff I don't do any of this stuff. My mechanic told me to flush the
engine twice a year for about 10 minutes, but maybe he 's just trying to
ensure that it will need continual maintenance.

I do watch out for the sharks.

Flush your engine after each outing. My manual says to flush for 15 minutes.
After docking I immediately hook up the engine to a hose and then proceed
with my other docking chores.

If possible, wash down your hull with fresh water as salt will accumulate.

Wash the entire boat more often.

Depending on how long you leave your standing rigging up, consider using
some kind of anti-seizing compound on your turnbuckles.

At the end of the season rinse your mooring lines. Salt will abrade them.

Watch out for the sharks.
