Mike,
The R22 mast is an easy thing to raise. You can either use the nifty mast  
crane that Stanley invented and sells, or you can use the six pack method of 
 mast raising.

beautiful and  have never had to mess with the mast or mast step. I prefer to 
use the marina  manual crane to raise and lower my mast.
