[Rhodes22-list] Cockpit Table Base

Hey Charles,
I just have a little strip (1/2 inch by 8 inches) of toweling that I
put one end in the depression and the other into the drain hole aft. Wicks
out the water so none is in the cup. Just gotta remember to pick it out and
put it in the cubby e sailing. Placing the strip in the cup is part of
putting the boat to bed each time, retrieving it and stowing it in cubby
party of getting the boat ready each sail. Low tech, fool proof and cheap.

Subject: [Rhodes22-list] Cockpit Table Base

I am a little surprised at myself, but for the 16-17 years I have had a
Rhodes 22, I have just learned to live with water accumulation in the table
base in the cockpit. recently I had to replace this escutcheon because
having it fill with water and sit there until it evaporated had finally
deteriorated the metal to a point of allowing water into the deck. I live
inland and I am pretty certain my boat has also always been inland, this is
probably a larger problem for my Rhodie friends on the coasts.

My surprise is that I have never asked this list, nor "heard" on this list
any comments dealing with this. Does everyone else just live with it like I
do, or is there a solution I am totally unaware of?

Many Thanks for responses.

Charles
