Dan,
Before you dive, try bouncing the boat under power over choppy waves to dislodge the board. Speedy motor boat wakes work great.
Lesson learned: never pull your board all the way up when leaving the boat docked in the water. Always drop it a few inches so you can knock off critters that grow in the trunk by pulling up.
