Hah!  

Well, I did check my mast length today - it was the advertised 26' and stuck
out beyond boat at both ends so I'm still thinking magic - or really
advanced technology - like the Tardis on Dr Who. Darn! That would be a
perfect name for an R22.

I was on an old 25 footer the other day and bow deck was definitely narrower
than Rhodes. I'm surprised more sail boats don't use the flair - motor boats
use it a lot.
