Yes...you want the pull of the  line to more or less be equal on the luff and the leech, when unfurling.. Sort of bisect the angle and very important to have the boom to starboard so the sail exits, when unfurling. In this case when furling, you want the slot to cause the least amount of friction. Also, if I remember correctly... Ease the mainsheet. Use the traveller to position the boom. If it starts to jam, pull the sail out a bit then refuel, watching to see no wrinkles form in the top third of the sail while you are furling. You want the sail as flat as possible. This is why you use the topping lift to adjust the boom height.
