Stan,

My heartfelt condolences on your loss.  It was always a pleasure to see 
Elton at
the Chicago boat show and sit, talk and try to sell boats.  I was there the
time he hit the black ice on I95, but persevered and got the boat to 
Chicago.
It did need some cleaning up...

He talked to me about his time in radio in Chicago but I never knew 
about his
impact on radio in New York until I saw the obituary in the New York Times.
It is clear from the article that Elton built a institution that was 
much loved
in the New York area.  I wish I had a chance to talk to him about the music.
