[Rhodes22-list] Spreader bolt / washer - pop top slider pin

Hi David,

The nylon (white) pieces have not been "deformed". They were manufactured to match the curve of the mast so that the spreader is straight out from the mast, not swept back. They actually look fine. Why do you want to replace them?

To replace the bolt, tapered shim, washer, etc., you need access to the inside of the mast. The mast must be lowered and the IMF removed (slid out the bottom). An open end box wrench is needed inside and a deep socket wrench inside the 1" tube into which the spreader is inserted.

I am not sure what "pin" you need. I attached a picture (look all the way down to the bottom of the email to find the link to the image). If this is what you are looking for, you should speak to Stan at General Boats (or Charles) for the replacement parts. Replacement will also require lowering the mast as the components are inserted from the bottom.

Rick,

I’ve seen that answer here before, but it doesn’t seem correct! Perhaps. Does the IMF have to come out to replace them?

 Hi David,

Your washers are "tapered" because they have been deformed. Any hardware store has nylon replacements.

Good afternoon,

I need to replace the tapered washers and possibly the bolts for my spreaders. I only inspected briefly, and in the rain, but it appears that the IMF must be removed to do this work. I'm assuming these are Dwyer parts.

I also need a new spring detent pin, or whatever you call the thing that releases the pop top carriage (or the boom carriage for that matter).

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
