[Rhodes22-list] Exit Lines

John,

I've got to second Joe here. I'm 6'2" and weigh in at about 280 - no small
guy. We picked the Rhodes precisely because it was the best compromise of
what's important to us we could find. The following are all important to us
and are in no particular order:

    - she's big enough that we don't feel cramped. I can't quite sit upright
in the cabin, but that wasn't much of a consideration since we spend the
vast majority of our time in the cockpit. I don't particularly look forward
to using the head (portapotty behind the partition, pre-"swell head"), but I
can, and that's good enough for me.

    - she's tall enough in the cabin for me to stand comfortably when the
pop top is up, and, w/ the pop top enclosure in place, there's a real
feeling of room in there - we can change in comfort and privacy, it keeps
the mosquitoes and black flies out, and we don't feel closed in at all at
night

    - she's very well built and Stan and company have an excellent
reputation for standing behind their product

    - she sails really nicely and solidly and feels more like a "big boat"
than most of the others we checked out. We were impressed with how big the
boat feels compared to how small she looks.

    - she's a much better performer than our old West Wight Potter 19. We're
not all that competetive, but it sure was nice to be able to make good
progress sailing against both the tide and the wind during our recent trip
to Maine.

    - the cockpit is wonderful. We can bring along 3-4 guests for an
afternoon of sailing w/o feeling cramped. Like I said before - it's where we
spend most of our time on the boat.

    - we love the IMF and the furling headsail. Easy, trouble-free, I think
we spend more time on the water sailing than do most of the other folks at
our marina. When we've only got an hour or two available, knowing we can be
sailing about 2 minutes after we get on the boat really helps us make the
decision to go out.

    - and, last but not least, she's trailerable and tows remarkably well,
given her weight. We just towed her to Maine and back (about 900 miles each
way) behind our 1990 Jeep Grand Wagoneer with no problems.
