OK thanks.  That makes sense as I think about it.  Re: manual - I 
downloaded the manual text for the '88 model.  I will assume that 
much of the advice in there will apply to my '79 model as 
well.  There is some discussion in there about centerboard position 
in heavy and light airs.  More research is required :-)
