[Rhodes22-list] Political: Bill Clinton v Sarah Palin (you're kidding right?)

Ben,

You seem to suffer from not recognizing your own prejudices. You
easily overlook Sarah Palin's very real accomplishments as a public
servant because you haven't bothered to look at all. Truman spoke in
short, choppy sentences and he only had a high school education. Was
he a moron? Hemingway wrote in short, choppy sentences, is he a moron
as a writer? Have you ever watched the interview with Palin and
Charlie Rose discussing energy policy from a few years ago? Google it
and get back to me.

Bill Clinton is a very intelligent person and can wax eloquently on
the meaning of 'is'. He has some very serious character flaws that
were well know to those with exposure to him in Arkansas but he got a
pass from the national press. That worked out pretty much as expected
by those of us who had years watching his act as Governor.

Richard Nixon and Jimmy Carter are considered by many to be two of the
"brightest" Presidents in recent memory. Nixon of course was very
paranoid and Carter nearly had a mental breakdown in office. Perhaps
we don't need the so called "most intelligent" candidate in the White
House but the candidate with the most common sense.

Regardless of what happens this election cycle, Sarah Palin will be
around for a good long while. I think that's a benefit for our nation
- just call me a "hardy soul".

Brad
