[Rhodes22-list] Sail Repairs

I believe that's their only facility. Their process not only cleans
but adds something back into the sail that stiffens it. Our genoa was
not only dirty and in need of some repairs but the sailcloth had
softened with use. The cleaned sail sail was not like new but it was
a significant improvement. Of course the sail has stretched some too
and their process does not improve that.

Anyone thinking of using Sailcare should note that it is a small
business with a lot of business. There can be backlogs, equipment
failures and mistakes (which as far as I've heard, they've always
made right) that can slow down the process of you getting your sails
back. Make sure you allow some time on the back end - over their
estimated time, just in case. When they did work for us, we bought a
furling unit from them and had a new forestay made. They shipped
things back to us in several lots and the forestay was the last to
come - and it was the wrong size wire which made the upper fitting to
big for the masthead fitting. They took it back and made it right but
because they use an outside supplier for the rigging it took a few
more weeks before we got our forestay. We didn't miss any sailing
tome because of it and used them again to clean a sail a couple of years later.

Best,
